THEODORE ROOSVELT PLAQUE BY JAMES E. FRASER
WE Have from a Florida estate this wonderful heavy bronze plaque of President Theodore Roosvelt done by James Earle Fraser(American: 1876-1953) this plaque was done by an artist who knew & worked with President Roosvelt while he was living. The plaque shows a sideview bust of the president with one of tr's favorite expressions shown below his image. The saying was/is "Aggresive fighting for the right is the noblest sport the world affords". The plaque is signed in the lrc & dated 1920. The plaque is in vg cond and measures 9 1/2 in. x 12 in. This bronze plaque was issued by the Brookly, NY library as a preminum to subscribe & fund the library. The back of the plaque is blank except for 2 oval loops so that the plaque may be wall mounted.
